"Sculptural and iconic, the floral images of Karl Blossfeld (1865-1932) are familiar to many. Is it because of their timeless beauty, or simply because they're now in the public domain? Possibly a little of both. Blossfeldt was a self-taught photographer, guided by his love for plant life. Using a home-made camera, he was able to magnify his subjects in ways which preceded yet inform the macro photography of today."
I really love the silhouette of these images, it ties in with our natural work theme, like some of our previous images of the cell micrographs, its really fascinating to see how peculiar the natural work looks close up.
