ARTIST// BETH HOECKEL

I'm really loving digital collage at the moment, and the work of Beth Hoeckel really caught my eye because of the surrealist otherworldly style to it. It has a great sense of fun and had the ability to take you to a different place which to be is always a good thing! Like Jeffry Meyer's work, it has this beautiful vintage quality to it. She takes people out of context and into a surreal landscape, whilst the muse is always gazing away from us in awe at the panoramic views almost taking you into the picture too.

GEMS AND GOLD// INSIDE THE ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM

These are just a mere glimpse of what was in the "Gems and Gold" exhibition, it was one of the most festinating and awe inspiring exhibits i have been to, inside the large room were rows and rows of hundreds of crystals, all in the most amazing colours and shapes, i really had no idea that colours like this could really be produced naturally. My pictures don't even do justice for how beautiful all the gems where. Its easy to see why Michael Lee Chin chose this for his inspiration for the "Crustal" extension to the Museum!

CANADIAN ADVENTURE// ROYAL ONTARIO MUSIUM

The Royal Ontario Museum has been a really inspirational place for me in the project, i love how it encompasses the traditional architecture of the city but it as been totally manipulated into a crystal formation hence the name the "Crystal".  It was one of my faveorite places i visited in Toronto, the main exhibition "Gems and Gold" was breathtaking...

EMILY'S PROJECT// CANADIAN ADVENTURE

So for my project im carrying on with a similar trend to PLANET EARTH ON ACID but incorporating visuals from my recent trip to Toronto in Canada where i found so many inspirational places. Below are some of my key images that i will take forward. Concentrating in particular on the buildings that formed an enormous city of glass. One memory i will remember for a long time was when driving back to Toronto after a trip up north, the sun was setting and from a distance it looked like the city was ablaze because of the orange light reflecting off the expanse of enormous glass structures.

PHOTOGRAPHER// MATTHEW BRANDT

"In Brandt's latest collection, Lakes and Reservoirs, his technique is carefully assembled in different stages from the very instance of preparing the exposure through to his unique processes of manipulation. The creative process of his latest series shows that he clearly understands the art in photography, although Brandt himself insists it is merely a representation of what he sees in front of him. What is also interesting about his 'experiments' is the connection he builds between what is real and what is visualized. By using the elements available to him, Brandt creates imagery that is more than just a picture, successfully juxstaposing his subject matter. We listen as he explains the concept of Lakes and Resevoirs and gain his views on the importance of experimentation."

MUSIC// ITAL TEK

DIGITAL ARTIST// LUIS TOLEDO

Luis Toledo, also known as Laprisamata, is an art director and digital artist from Madrid. His wide clientele includes companies such as Warner Music, Heineken, EA Games and others, all impressed by his beautiful digital art.

I love the juxta position of the images he uses to produce the unexpectedly visually pleasing pieces. There seems to be a stung elements of life death and religion in his work, if you looks closely you can see there is an underlying theme to each collage, the small details in the pieces are just as important and thought through as the overall image.

ARTIST// ALBERTO SEVESO - A DUE COLORI

These fantastic images by Alberto Seveso are underwater photography of beautiful vibrant inks intertwining so magesticly. There is so much depth to the images at first glance it could be easily mistaken for billowing fabrics. They are really reminiscent of the marbling we did, there is something really magical about how entrancing watching inks diffuse in to water.
